TERIYAKI AS THE SAUCE

Of course, and it's easy. It is actually shown in our recipe video. Homemade teriyaki sauce takes only four simple ingredients, and you’ll get the best sauce that goes well with everything.
TERIYAKI AS THE STYLE OF COOKING
Teriyaki in Japan actually refers to a cooking method. “Teri” (照り) means luster and “yaki” (焼き) means either grilled, broiled or pan-fried. Food prepared in “teriyaki” style, is being seasoned with soy sauce, sake, mirin and sugar. Watch our recipe video for your enjoyment. Happy cooking!!!
CRISPY CHICKEN TERIYAKI
WRITTEN RECIPE:
Serves 3 to 4 persons
Cooking time: 30 min
Cuisine: Japanese

LIST OF INGREDIENTS:
Teriyaki Sauce
1/4 cup - Japanese cooking sake
1/4 cup - Mirin
1/4 cup - Soy Sauce
1/8 cup - Sugar
Fried Chicken:
Cooking oil
1/2 kg. - Chicken thighs, skin on medium sliced
Corn starch for breading
Green onion for garnishing
COOKING PROCEDURES:
For Teriyaki Sauce:
Prepare the teriyaki sauce by putting all the said four ingredients in a cooking pan and stir well with a spatula while it's still cold.
Turn on the cooking pan once stirred and mixed very well. Bring the raw mixed sauce into a boil.
Turn the stove off after the sauce reached the boiling point and let the sauce cool down.
Put the cold sauce into a glass container with cap to cover the excess teriyaki sauce.
For frying the chicken:
Turn he stove on. On a clean frying pan, fry the chicken breaded with corn starch.
Once golden brown, apply the home-made teriyaki sauce on all the surfaces using cooking brush by flipping the partly fried chicken around.
Test the chicken if cooked inside-out and for crispiness, then turn the stove off.
Using the thong, put each chicken slices into a plate and arrange properly.
Sprinkle some green onions for garnishing.
Serve while it's hot and crispy. Serve with steamed or fried rice. Serve with vegetable salad (Optional).
