Hi everyone! Just a few days ago, my wife and I just went for a food shopping at a nearby shop from where we live. The huge grocery store is part of a famous Shopping Plaza in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila. Although I used to visit this mall every time I go home for a vacation in PH, I have not visited the said grocery store yet located at the basement. It so happened that we decided to shop here, just in time after visiting a nearby office for an important business. As I entered the store, I was amazed by the quality of the farm produce and other grocery items with some unique features. I went to take some photos to show you.
As an Architect, I am very much appreciative of this method of displaying products which I think enhances the sale and a good marketing strategy especially for food items. One of our duties as designers is to help our clients increase sale by designing furnitures and racks for department stores and shopping malls like these.
Let's see more of the fruit displays. . .
Now, let's go to the vegetable line...

One thing that amazes me is that, this is the first time I saw this level of quality when it comes to food display style in PH which I have been seeing in Japan for the whole time I have been there. Oh well, I can only say that after living there for almost twenty years, I am glad that I can already find it here now that I am home for good. I am not saying that our grocery displays here are not good at all, but what I am trying to say is that maybe there are some that can maintain theirs but not at this level, while if one can exert an extra effort, anyone can achieve it.
Okay, am I getting too far? Just hang on and join me in this, would you? Let's just continue browsing around as I've got some unique features to show that you cannot find in most mediocre stores around (pardon my adjective). :)
Match them with the right type of select cheese...
Huh! Do they just got a sushi corner too? Come on. . .
More of the Japanese stuff or Japanese frozen products. I suddenly missed Giyoza when I saw this on the fridge. I'll take only the mushroom and vegetable giyoza as I usually buy these in Japan.
What about a complete Asian store inside?
Imported coffee bean section. . .
And a nice coffee grinding station...
Ok, it's just that I'm a coffee lover, and my blog includes beverage too anyway, so I always see to it that I visit the coffee section every time I shop for groceries.
